Description: This is a vector file that represents the sewer mains within Monroe County, New York. Designed in the early 1900's, the sewer mains maintain a combined sewer overflow (CSO) system, wherein stormwater, wastewater, and runoff all collect into the same system. The system is compromised of 28,952 sections of main sewer on City streets, parking lots, and roof connections, and totals approximately 1,300 miles of sewers.

Copyright Text: This layer was created by the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services (DES). This layer was originally created in GIS in 2002 during a digital conversion project where original Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings and as-built drawings were scanned and digitized, and combined with data gathered from field work (2002, Monroe County Department of Environmental Services, Rochester, NY).
