Description: This is a vector point file that represents light poles in Greece, New York. Light poles are placed around major roadways and highways to illuminate intersections, exits, and other important road markers in the dark. At the time of collection, this represented poles owned by the Town of Greece, as well as poles owned by RG&E. The Town wanted this inventory performed since they considering purchasing light poles from RG&E.

This layer was created by GPS locating all light poles in the Town of Greece from February 2015 through June 2015 using survey grade GPS receivers and joining those points using the pole tag ID to an RG&E Excel file (RGE Greece Streetlights 2014.xlsx) that contained attributes regarding each light (2015, Bergmann Associates Inc., Rochester, NY).
